All About Me

All About Me

Hi, friends! Thank you for stopping by WisdomSpot101. For those of you that don’t know me, I wanted to introduce myself to you.

Early years

I grew up in a small, rural town in the Texas Panhandle. My parents were hard working folks who formed my values and beliefs. First of all, I was fortunate to grow up in a Christian home and invited Christ into my heart when I was 10 years old. I always had summer jobs and babysat throughout the year. I was blessed to grow up in a small town with the love of two wonderful parents.

College

I studied accounting at Texas Tech University, where I met my husband. We met in a summer English class. He walked into class one day and I immediately noticed his sexy legs! I kind of stalked him in the library until he finally asked me out. We got married before I completed my degree so, after having children, I went back to finish my degree at Wayland Baptist University. I changed my major to education and also received my Master of Education degree from WBU.

Career

I’ve recently retired from education after almost 30 years. I was a 4th grade teacher for a number of years before I became an assistant principal and then a principal. I was so blessed to be in a career that I truly loved for so long. It was my greatest joy to serve the students in my hometown. My goal when I retired was 1. to still love what I did and 2. to retire before people started asking when I was ever going to retire!  I believe that both of those goals were accomplished.

Family

Darren and I were married in 1984. He is a hard working farmer and cattleman. We have two incredible sons, two amazing daughters-in-law and five of the smartest, cutest grandchildren that you could ever meet. Poppa and Glammy (our grandparent names) love to spend time with those grands!!! We also have an extremely spoiled black lab named Harley.

Blogging

I’ve always enjoyed writing so this blog has been a fun experience for me. I pray that all women who stumble across my blog will be encouraged and inspired with my words of wisdom!
