Heart for Decorating

We moved into our new home in February of 2017. Because I needed some design inspiration, I started following some beautiful accounts on Instagram and have learned to love decor. Therefore, I wanted a portion of this blog to be about creating a beautiful home. Just a reminder, a home doesn’t have to be perfect. The only perfect home is one where people feel welcome to come in, kick their shoes off and stay awhile.

Remodeling our Home

We did a little remodeling before we moved in and the majority of those renovations were in the kitchen. A wall was knocked out between the kitchen and dining room. The flooring in that area was removed as well. Once the floor was removed, I invited my parents to come over to help us bless our home by writing scripture on the foundation. It is a blessing to know that our home has a firm foundation rooted in God’s word. We chose CoreTec luxury plank vinyl for the flooring and are so pleased with it. It created the warmth that this kitchen needed. We also painted the kitchen, dining room, living room and laundry room using Sherwin William’s Agreeable Gray. In the kitchen, we removed the fluorescent lighting and added some recessed lighting, plus some beautiful pendant lights from Lowe’s.
