Easy, Make Ahead Super Bowl Snacks

Are you ready for some football?  Are you planning to watch the game or do you just like the commercials? I hear that the halftime show is going to bring out the rapper in all of us. That doesn’t really sound like my cup of tea….oh well, I’ll just go back to the kitchen!

If I’m really being honest, I just show up for the snacks. Since our first year of married life, the hubs and I have a yearly tradition of a special dip that I call the Superbowl Dip.  All you do is melt a 1/2 pound of Velveeta in a can of chili, add in a little hot sauce to taste and serve with tortilla chips. I know, I should be on a cooking show! Easy is my thing, but if you are looking for other ideas, here are a few that I’ve pinned to my Pinterest page.

If you are like me, you don’t want to be in the kitchen preparing snacks while everyone else is enjoying the game together. These snacks are some that you can prepare ahead of time so that you can have fun rooting on your favorite team during the game!

Appetizers

One of our favorites is BBQ Meatballs. The recipe is super easy plus the beauty is that you can throw it all in your crockpot a couple of hours before the game and it is ready to go without you having to worry about it. Another favorite snack is Cowboy Caviar. This is a great dip that you will need to make the day before the big game because the longer it sits in the fridge, the better the flavors taste! Finally, my absolute favorite snack for Superbowl is popcorn! You could create a popcorn bar for all of the fans by having different toppings on the table: M&Ms, Skittles, caramels, sprinkles, peanuts, etc.

Desserts

You can never go wrong with chocolate of any kind, right?! Therefore, I love this Dr. Pepper Cake. The icing on it is sweet enough to last you a few days! For some reason, strawberries sound good to me lately so I’m planning to make this Strawberry Cake for our Superbowl party. The very best, absolute favorite of ours is my famous Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe found here. Just follow my secrets for the perfect cookie!

Basically, all you have to do is throw a few snacks on the table, put some soft drinks in the fridge and you have the makings of a great superbowl party! It’s not about creating the perfect place to watch the game, it’s about enjoying the company of those around you! I hope your team wins and that you can still button your pants on Monday after enjoying all of these fun treats!

Be Blessed,
