Heart for Family, Heart for Jesus

My Word of the Year

I hope you guys had a wonderful Christmas with your friends and family! My kids just arrived a couple of days ago so we are still in full Christmas mode around here. We have had so much fun with the grandkids this year and sure are going to miss the chaos when they all leave. What a blessing to be surrounded by those you love!

Reflect on the past year

As I prepare for a new year, I love to reflect on the past year. Where did I find the goodness of God in my life? Where did I spread joy and love to those around me? What did I do to make my life more meaningful?

My word of the year

One of the things that I’ve done the last several years is to announce my word of the year! Instead of making a new year’s resolution that I will break within a few weeks, I pick a word that I can focus on for the entire year. A couple of years ago, my word was JOY! I loved being intentional about finding JOY in my life all year long. This post talks about finding the JOY of the Lord! You can read about last year’s word in this post.

Growth

This year, I’ve prayed about what word God would have me choose. I had several words come to mind, but the one I have decided to focus on this year is “GROWTH”. I want to grow in my relationship with Christ. I want to grow in my knowledge of writing. I want to grow my followers so that I can reach more people with my ministry. I want to grow! I know that anything that grows has to be well cared for so I plan to be more intentional with my time spent in the Word and my prayer life. I plan to post more quality content for the blog. I plan to build more relationships with my followers on Facebook and Instragram.

Do you have a word of the year that you plan to focus on? If so, would you share it in the comments because I would love to hear all about it!

Enjoy the last few days of 2021! Happy New Year! May 2022 brings loads of blessings to you and your family!

Be blessed,

Vickie
